What a cliche almost to be friends.
What is friendship?
The dictionary definition is "a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard."
Another word that many people tie to the word friendship is love.
What is love?
That's a word people have been trying to define for it seems century's. For the moment we stick to the dictionary definition of "love" which is "a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person."
You can see how these two are closely linked in the minds of many. If you think about friendship in the way that friendship goes you will probably wonder why some people are friends.
A friend can be anyone. One called friend can be anyone. However the one who is there no matter your own ways is the real friend.
Ask yourself this question about any person you consider a close friend.
"If they revealed something to me that I consider dark and evil that they are involved in what would I do?"
What do you consider dark? What do you consider evil? What if your best friend was guilty of that?
Could you still be friends with that person?
Do not be so quick in an answer.
To that myself I wondered how much I valued my friends if I could not love them, (remember that close link to friendship) regardless of their imperfections.
What is a friend?
A friend is someone who is there no matter what. Is your friendship based on conditions?
I think for to long my friendships have been based on weather my friends are up to par. I made lists of rules in my mind. If they did not make all the points all the time then there was a problem and then if they did not change for me I denied them love...
Tonight I write this feeling friendless realizing that my friendlessness is due to my own lists of rules. I have based you on your performance to my rules.
I have known my darkness yet I judged you for your darkness.
Can I have a friendship that is condition-less?
I like this.
ReplyDeleteWow that is good! Love you brother!
