Dyeing Alone

What have you become?
I have reached out to you so many times I lost count.
I have prayed for you for so long I cannot remember a time I did not.
I have cried for you to understand for so long the tears seem normal to me.

You were once a shining angel, now replaced with a sorrowful corpse.
Your smile that once brightened the day of all those around has turned to gray ash.

Who are you?
Where there was comfort and love with you, is now like a desert of hate.
You have cut all those who ever cared to love you.
You spat in the face of your closest family and friends.

All those whom expressed love to you have left.
They have forgotten you exist.

Any attempt at love you twist into an attack on you.
I see you dieing quickly, like a once beautiful flower meeting its demise of the Autumn.

You will not take any help from those whom love you.
The only thing left is to let go.
Tis a sad sight to watch a person die alone, that need not die, or be alone.

  1. I just love this poem, Nate. The clarity with which you write is what makes your works so beautiful.
