Perspectives

I see the world from my eyes everyday. I see it from one perceptive, with my biases and beliefs that affect how I see life.
I often wonder what others see, and how they see the world.
A couple of days ago I a former coworker in traffic, they were going their way and I was going mine. And I wondered what the world looked like them that morning.
I had a rather bad headache that morning and I had not gotten much sleep the night before. So to me that morning the day was rather dull and average.
So I wondered as I continued on my way, "How did the other person see the world that morning?"
Was it bright and happy to them?
Was it dark and depressing?

I get so caught on my own perspective of the world that I forget that there are others in the world. And that they see it in a different way.
Really wish in some way that I could see the world from some others perspective.
But then it would not be from their perspective it would be mine.
I guess we can only see the world one way, our way...

  1. One way to see the world from another person's perspective or worldview is by reading. Different books and plays can give you another persons ideas and feelings about the world. "Children of a Lesser God" gives you a look at the world from a deaf person's perspective. "Long Days Journey Into Night" shows you what it feels like to live with a relative with a drug addiction. The personal stories at the end of the book "Alcoholics Annonymous" gives you the perspective of a variety of alcoholics. If you want to know more about the world and different worldviews, read more.
